The Marshalltown area offers something for everyone with a variety of year-round recreation. The Marshalltown Parks & Recreation Department maintains over 1,980 acres of parkland and walkways in the Marshalltown area, within many parks and 8.9 miles of trails.
Area parks not only preserve the small-town appeal of nature with prairie grass, trees and wildflowers within city limits, but offer volleyball, basketball, horseshoe and tennis courts, ball diamonds, and exciting playgrounds.
The Marshall County Conservation Board and Nature Center at the Grimes Farm provides an inviting place with educational programming that encourages visitors to make a personal connection with nature and offers opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy nature’s message of harmony.
