This program, a collaboration between Empowerment, Marshalltown Public Library and Building Healthy Families, will emphasize fun ways to "raise a reader" right from the beginning, as well as offer a supportive group and chances to interact with other parents of babies.

Description:
A Marshalltown Public Library "make a difference" program for school-aged youth and families focusing on worldwide issue of water scarcity and the lack of access to clean water in many other countries. The program will be a combination of a couple short movie clips, a presentation about water-carrying by some Marshalltown students originally from Sierra Leone in Africa, a water-carrying activity outside, some activities by Pam Blake that shows how we know we have clean water in Marshalltown, as well as ideas to make a difference with this issue.
